Northstar Mail privacy controls
Remove your local data and access.
Northstar does not maintain a TreeByte-hosted mailbox. Use the two independent steps below to clear Northstar's local account record and withdraw its Google authorization.
Updated July 21, 2026
1. Remove the account in Northstar
- Open Northstar Mail.
- Open Manage accounts.
- Find the account and choose Remove.
- Confirm the removal when Northstar asks.
This clears that account's local Northstar record, locally protected OAuth credentials, and in-memory mail, calendar, and contact data. It also clears the shared email renderer's locally stored cookies, site data, browsing history, and disk cache. Cached remote images for other connected accounts may be discarded, but those accounts remain configured. If cleanup cannot finish immediately, remote images stay blocked and Northstar retries before loading them again. Removing the account does not delete mail, calendar events, or contacts stored by Google.
2. Revoke the Google grant
- Open Google Account third-party connections.
- Sign in to the Google account you connected to Northstar.
- Select Northstar Mail.
- Choose the option to remove access and confirm.
Revoking the grant stops Northstar from using that Google authorization in the future. It does not remove Northstar's local account record, so complete step 1 as well.
TreeByte-hosted data
TreeByte does not receive or store a cloud copy of Northstar mailbox, calendar, contacts, or OAuth data, so there is no TreeByte-hosted provider content account to delete. Google remains the system of record for the data held in your Google account.
If you voluntarily emailed TreeByte for support and want that correspondence deleted, email support@treebytesoftware.com from the same address and identify the support request. Do not send a password, authorization code, or OAuth token.
