Northstar Mail is a local-first Windows desktop email client for reading, searching, and sending Gmail from your PC. Gmail connects with a Google app password; optional Google browser consent enables Calendar and People. You can create contacts and create or edit events in your primary calendar.

Your calendar at a glance
View, create, and edit events in your Google primary calendar when you grant access. Events with guests may send them Google notifications.
People when you need them
Browse Google contacts and create a new contact when you choose. Northstar does not edit or delete existing provider contacts.
A direct connection
Local-first is more than a label.
Northstar connects directly from your Windows PC to Google's mail servers and, with your permission, its Calendar and People APIs. TreeByte does not receive a copy of your mailbox, calendar, contacts, or credentials on a Northstar cloud service.
Provider data remains local
Message, calendar, and contact content is loaded and processed by the desktop app on your PC. There is no TreeByte cross-device mailbox sync.
Credentials are Windows-protected
Gmail app passwords and Google OAuth tokens are protected locally with Windows Data Protection API protection tied to your Windows user.
Provider access is removable
Remove an account from Northstar to clear its local account record, protected credentials, and loaded app data. Revoke Northstar separately in your Google Account to withdraw the provider grant.
