Connect, back up, and restore with confidence.

Connect by USB

1. Unlock the Android phone and connect it with a data-capable USB cable.
2. Choose File transfer or MTP in the phone's USB options.
3. Accept any trust or access prompt on the phone.
4. Open DroidPort on Windows and select the detected phone.

USB exposes files and media supported by the phone. Messages and personal-information features require DroidPort Companion.

Connect over Wi-Fi

1. Install and open DroidPort Companion on Android.
2. Keep the phone and PC on the same local network.
3. Start pairing in the Windows app and compare the code on both devices.
4. Approve the PC on the phone and grant only the content permissions you need.

VPNs, guest Wi-Fi isolation, firewalls, and security filters can prevent local discovery. You can use the connection details shown in the apps when automatic discovery is unavailable.

Create a backup

Choose the supported content categories and a destination on your PC. Keep the phone unlocked and connected until verification completes. DroidPort records completion and recovery information locally so an interrupted operation can stop safely.

Restore from a backup

Open a completed backup in the offline browser, select supported records, review the destination and conflicts, then start restore. Android may require a permission, folder selection, account selection, or temporary default-SMS role. A restore does not recreate every app, setting, encrypted conversation, or protected app database.

Messages and RCS

SMS/MMS support depends on Android's provider and permissions. Some exposed RCS records may be readable, but coverage varies by phone, carrier, and messaging app. DroidPort cannot guarantee complete RCS backup or restore private encrypted chats from Google Messages, WhatsApp, Signal, or another app.

Privacy and local data

DroidPort uses a direct connection between your phone and approved PC and does not require a TreeByte account or cloud relay. Review the privacy policy for every permission category, local storage, retention, and deletion controls.
