Your phone data goes where you choose.

1. Scope

This policy covers DroidPort for Windows, DroidPort Companion for Android, and the DroidPort pages on this website. TreeByte Software can be reached at support@treebytesoftware.com.

2. Data the apps can access

DroidPort accesses a category only when you use a related feature and Android or Windows permits it. Depending on your choices and device support, this can include:

• SMS and MMS records, and incoming SMS/MMS while DroidPort is temporarily selected as the default SMS app for a restore.
• Call history, contacts, contact photos, calendars, photos, videos, audio, and files.
• Names and metadata needed to browse, search, export, back up, restore, organize, or clean up selected content.
• Nearby-device, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, USB, and local-network information needed to find, pair with, and connect to your PC.
• Device model, app version, connection state, transfer receipts, backup manifests, and recovery journals needed to complete and verify an operation.

RCS records and private or encrypted data owned by other apps may be unavailable or incomplete. DroidPort does not bypass Android security or another app's encryption.

3. How data is used

The apps use this data only to provide the action you choose: browse, transfer, back up, restore, export, organize, mirror, remotely control, or clean up supported content. The Android app sends selected or permitted content over an authenticated encrypted connection to your approved PC. USB file access is provided through Android and Windows device interfaces.

4. Local storage and security

Backups, exports, media previews, operation journals, paired-device records, and settings are stored on your devices in locations controlled by the apps or chosen by you. Portable encrypted archives are encrypted with the password you provide. Saved pairing secrets and sensitive Windows settings use operating-system protection. Wireless content transfer uses TLS after explicit pairing. Device security, disk protection, passwords, backups, and other software also affect the security of local data.

5. Sharing, advertising, and analytics

DroidPort does not send phone content to TreeByte, advertising networks, data brokers, or analytics providers. It does not use advertising SDKs, behavioral profiling, or cloud content synchronization. Your content is transferred to the Windows PC you approve or to a local destination you choose. App stores may process account, download, payment, review, and technical information under their own policies.

6. Permissions and controls

You can deny Android permissions and use only the features that remain available. Folder access uses Android's system picker. Message restoration may require temporarily choosing DroidPort as the default SMS app; the app provides a route back to your previous messaging app. You can disconnect a PC, revoke a paired PC, remove permissions in Android settings, or uninstall the companion.

7. Retention and deletion

Uninstalling DroidPort Companion removes its app-private settings from the phone, subject to Android behavior. In DroidPort for Windows, remove paired phones and delete unwanted backups, exports, archives, cached previews, and journals from the app or their chosen local folders. Uninstalling the Windows app does not automatically erase backup folders you deliberately saved elsewhere. Deleting data on your phone is performed only after an explicit cleanup, file-management, or restore action.

8. Website and support data

This website's hosting and security providers may process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser type, request time, and error information. If you contact support, TreeByte receives the information you choose to send and uses it to answer your request. Do not send passwords, authentication codes, private messages, backup archives, or personal phone content unless support specifically asks for a safe diagnostic and you choose to provide it.

9. Children and policy changes

DroidPort is a general utility and is not directed to children under 13. TreeByte does not knowingly collect children's personal information through a DroidPort cloud service because no such service exists. We may update this policy as product behavior or legal requirements change; the effective date identifies the current version.
