Start a job

1. Choose a tool from the home screen.
2. Drag supported files into the window or use Add.
3. Review page, output, and quality options.
4. Create the output and open its new folder from Recent jobs.

Word and PDF conversion

Word to PDF uses Microsoft Word's local layout engine when Word is installed. The fallback may differ on advanced layouts. PDF to Word defaults to positioned editable text and offers an exact-appearance page-image mode. Scanned pages need OCR for editable text.

OCR and searchable PDFs

OCR accuracy depends on scan quality and installed Windows language support. Searchable PDF creates a flattened page image with an invisible selectable text layer. Choose the correct language and a useful scan resolution.

Signatures and redaction

A visual signature can be drawn or imported, then placed and resized on the full document view. It is not a certificate-backed digital signature. Redaction rebuilds each page from pixels and permanently removes selected areas plus interactive PDF content; review the saved result.

Passwords and Pro

Password removal requires the password you already know. Pro is a $9.99 lifetime Microsoft Store add-on. If ownership does not appear, confirm the same Microsoft account is signed into Windows Store, restart SprucePDF, and choose Restore purchase.

Privacy and local files

Documents are processed on your PC. Review the privacy policy for local settings, diagnostics, saved signatures, temporary files, and deletion controls.
