Your documents stay on your computer.
SprucePDF does not operate a document-processing cloud service. This policy explains the local data the app uses to do the work you choose.

1. Scope
This policy covers SprucePDF for Windows and the SprucePDF pages on this website. TreeByte Software can be reached at contact@treebytesoftware.com.
2. Document processing
SprucePDF processes documents locally on your Windows computer. Document content, images, passwords, and filenames are not uploaded to TreeByte Software or another document-processing service. The app has no advertising, analytics SDK, or user account.
3. Microsoft Store purchases
Microsoft Store handles Pro purchases and licensing under Microsoft's policies. SprucePDF reads whether the lifetime add-on is active and may display Store-provided pricing. TreeByte does not receive payment-card details through the app.
4. Local settings and diagnostics
SprucePDF stores your selected output folder and appearance preference in local settings. Recent-job history is held only for the current app session. Local diagnostic logs contain operation names, result counts, durations, and error types; they do not contain document text or passwords. Logs are limited to a current and previous file of approximately 1 MB each.
5. Passwords and signatures
PDF passwords are held only in memory while needed for a job, cleared after a completed job, and never written to settings or logs. A signature you draw or import can be saved locally on this PC so you can reuse it; you can remove that saved signature from the app.
6. Outputs and temporary files
Outputs are saved to the folder you select, and source files are never overwritten. A failed or canceled job removes its temporary output when Windows permits. A computer crash or forced termination can leave a temporary folder in your chosen output location. Watch-folder automation uses a temporary local copy while processing and deletes it afterward when Windows permits.
7. Retention and deletion
You can delete outputs and temporary folders yourself. Local settings, the optional saved signature, and logs are stored under SprucePDF in your Windows profile. Uninstalling the app does not delete document outputs you deliberately saved elsewhere.
8. Website and support
This website's hosting and security providers may process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser type, request time, and error information. If you contact support, TreeByte receives the information you choose to send and uses it to answer your request. Do not send passwords or private documents unless support specifically asks for a safe sample and you choose to provide it.
